Issues:

Taxes – As a concerned taxpayer, I will fight to make the Indiana General Assembly pass long-term tax relief to the working Hoosier who carry the tax burden! I support the House Republican agenda of:

• Strong state and local spending caps.
• Move toward permanent elimination of homestead property tax.
• Permanent 1% of assessed valuation homestead cap.
• Remove schools and welfare from property tax.
• Referenda for local construction and budget increases.
• Fund cuts with sales tax alone.

Education – As a teacher, I understand first hand, the problems that our schools face. I see one solution starts with more dollars to the classroom to lower the student – teacher ratio. If we make classroom numbers smaller, each student gets the needed attention which translates directly into success in the classroom. This also attacks the problem of high school drop-outs that has become such a major problem in our Indianapolis area schools.

Family Values - As a married, father of two, who was born and raised in District 86, I want families to feel supported by the decisions of their government. I will be a conservative voice for family values in Marion and Hamilton Counties. I am committed to preserving the Hoosier values. Strong families are the basic building block of a strong society. Government policy at any level should not weaken the family unit.

Economic Development - Economic growth and expansion comes from the private sector, based on strong, small businesses. We must not over-tax or over-regulate business. Small businesses create nearly half of America's overall employment. I will fight to keep the over-reaching arm of government from interfering with the free market.
